Abstract?a name=PointTmp>The Taichi Yin-Yang system is a useful tool to analyze systems because it always makes use of both differentiation and integration all the time, and it seems to agree with the laws of modern mathematics and physics. Hence, it is able to analyse systems, no matter how big or small.

The system is composed of Input Influences, Internal Good & Evil Yin-Yang structure, and Output Behavior.

Traditional Chinese Medicine Differential Diagnosis-Cure Process guides us on how to analyze the output behavior in order to diagnose the current state represented by the Good & Evil Yin-Yang chart. Proper strategies can then be implemented to regulate the system according to the Golden Rule of Regulation, and hence achieving the goal as defined in our Taichi. The system is then "cured" and will be stable, be efficient, have longevity and be able to grow. Improper strategies will ruin the system by creating more imbalances which finally leads to destruction. The recent remarkable results in the battle against SARS is supported by the guidance of this ancient theory, rather than a particular effective Chinese herb.

Over-control is very tempting as it is a quick fix, but it will also cause obvious or hidden side effects. Regulating a system, on the other hand, will not cause many side effects. However, regulation is an art and takes time to achieve because it assists a system to regain balance within and with its environment. Habitual reaction caused by the internal feedback loop should also be considered in a good strategy. Note that habitual reaction in human system is the source of all troubles.

I.    INTRODUCTION

The basic structure of the ancient Taichi Yin-Yang System has been introduced in the paper "The Taichi Yin-Yang System -the ancient logical structure of systems" [].

The system is composed of Input Influences, Internal Good & Evil Yin-Yang structure, and Output Behavior.

The theory has been applied to many different areas in Chinese culture including medicine, economics, architecture, martial arts, astrology, tactics, science, and philosophy. However, the mostly applied and preserved science to current date is Traditional Chinese Medicine. TCM still employs this theory everyday all over the world to perform diagnosis on human body and work out the best cure for their sickness. The best way to understand a theory is to study how it is applies in practical situations.

The application is called TCM Differential Diagnosis-Cure Process. The first step of this process is to examine the output behavior and determine the current state of the human body represented by the Good & Evil Yin-Yang chart. The process has an effective search method called the Eight Principles, for determining the current state out of the 64 different states. Another Cause Diagnosis process also exists for identifying the cause of the imbalanced state but is of much less importance in comparison to the Eight Principles. This is because the effect of an input influence depends very much on the current state of the system. An example on how TCM treats flu will demonstrate this phenomenon.

By comparing to the Ideal BALANCED State as a frame of reference, different strategies can be classified into the COLD-HOT Influence Spectrum. Proper strategies can be applied to regulate systems according to the Golden Rule of Regulations. Without the guideline of the Golden Rule, simple cause elimination may result in improper strategies which will ruin the system by causing more imbalances resulting in the destruction of the system. Quick fix using over-control is very dangerous and long-term regulation should be exercised instead.

Examples of daily TCM clinical use of the control theory for the Taichi Yin-Yang system will be provided as a better insight into the control part of the theory. Many different tools has been developed in the last 2000 years and are classified into the COLD-HOT Influence Spectrum for regulating human body. This tools are composed of energy, matter or information manipulation. [] [living systems] [the Yin and Yang medicine]

The internal feedback loop will be investigated as it could affect all parts of a system and good strategies should take this into consideration. In the end the aim of control will be analyzed and point out how the experience of exercising control over different systems should help ourselves in developing insight into our lives, and those who are enlightened by this will be able to have a peaceful life in harmony with the rest of the environment around.

III.    TCM Differential Diagnosis-Cure Process:

Traditional Chinese Medicine is based on the TaiChi Yin-Yang theory. TCM Differential Diagnosis-Cure process has been used in clinical situation ever since the establishment of the earliest classic of TCM 2000yrs ago, which has been thoroughly developed through time. The recent remarkable results in the battle against SARS is supported by the guidance of this ancient theory, rather than a particular effective Chinese herb.

IX.    The tools of TCM to exercise strategies:

The tools that has been employed by TCM includes natural herbs, acupuncture and moxibustion, massage therapy, Qi Gong, homeopathy, and computerized Qi Gong Signal diagnostic and treatment (Bio-Resonance). All these tools can be used according to the Golden Rule of Regulations, but can also be used for suppressive control. Therefore the essence of TCM is not about the special tools they employ, it is the Taichi Yin-Yang system and the Golden Rule of Regulations.

Note that all the tools manipulate either energy, matter, and/or information of the systems for regulations. [Living systems] [] [Traditional Chinese Medicine and Bio-Resonance ?the Yin and the Yang medicine] And this classification applies to any tools that are used for regulating other systems as well.

XI.    Control Theory: Aim of life, aim of control

Living in this Information Age, we engineers and computer scientists have the responsibilities to lead people into the correct direction of IT, which is felt should be the choice of the proper information for human kind, both for the health of our bodies and for the health of our minds.

The simplest way to practice control theory should be to aware of the current state a any system, possibly at all time, and then balance the system with proper strategies if it gets out of acceptable range, according to the Golden Rule of Regulation.

We observer love to have all systems around us to be under our control because we all have preferences and prejudice.?In economical terms, we always want to satisfy our wants, which are unlimited but the means of satisfying wants are limited and therefore scarce in comparison. The Taichi Yin-Yang theory is very powerful and the Confucius said: "I Ching is a thief, disaster." [] [wing]. Lao-Tzu also said: “No disaster is worse than being discontented. No catastrophe is worse than having unlimited desires. The contentment from releasing that one should satisfy, will always make one feel contented. [] (Lao Tze 46)

The Taichi Ying-Yang system is the simplist and most efficient method to analyze and control any system in this universe. It is also the closest description of our universe. However the actual universe cannot be described by words, but it can be experienced within ourself because we are a miniature of the universe. Before we can experience the actual universe and realize the truth, we are trapped in the Taichi Yin-Yang system and cannot excape from it because it is The Theory of Everything.

A feedback system has the sensor part, the differentiation part, the habit part and the reaction part, it is the habit part that is keeping the system alive. Good habits will maintain the system and bad habit will ruin the system. It is the habit of differentiation that keep the feedback system from rejoining the A & not A.

Human system has the same structure mentioned above. Our living and emotional habits determine the quality of out life. Do we control ourself out of the habit of craving, aversion and ignorance? Or out of selfless love and compassion. The truth of the universe is within us. We have tried to show you the theory but where to go from wher is up to you. Know Thyself, control yourself, eliminate your habits.

Human follows the law of the Earth; the Earth follows the law of the Universe; The Universe follows the law of the Tao. The law of the Tao is the law of nature (Tao De Ching) 25

Without going outside his door, one understands everything under the sky; without looking out from his window, one sees the Tao. The farther that one goes out from himself, the less he knows. (Tao De Ching) 47

"The Tao is not far from human but human go further and further away from human as we search for Tao." Confucius.

"The true wisdom is: Impermanance, Suffering (from craving for permanance) and Not Me" Eightfold Path, Buddha.

"Understand your mind and realize your real nature is the way to enlightingment" Zen.

“Pointing directly to the human mind, and enlightenment will be achieved by realizing one’s real nature.?Zen

Human have too many minds and hence is bounded by the Yin and Yang. []

XII.    Conclusion:

The Traditional Chinese Medicine Differential Diagnosis-Cure process has been illustrated. For any applications, the first step is to define the Ideal BALANCED state which serve as the frame of reference for the rest of the analysis. Then the internal state of the system can be determined from the output behavior. The Good & Evil Yin-Yang chart can be used to graphically represent the Eight Principles including Yin-Yang, COLD-HOT, DEFICIENT-EXCESS. Instead of comparing the output behavior with each one of those of the 64 states, a better method has been practicing for thousand of years. Firstly, one should determine whether the state is COLD/HOT, then check if Good Yin and Good Yang is/are deficient, and lastly is to check if the Evil Yin and Evil Yang is/are in EXCESS.

Once the current state is identified, proper strategies can be chosen from the COLD-HOT Influence Spectrum to assist the system to regain balance within and with the environment. The idea of balance is clearly stated by the Golden Rule of Regulation for thousands of years: Heat up the COLD body, cool down the HOT body; Nourish those who are DEFICIENT and Dissipate the EXCESS within. Sometimes it is very tempting to overuse Dissipate method of Yin/Yang Reducing because the result is quick and obvious, but side effect will appear at the same time or delayed at a later stage. The example of Traditional Chinese Medicine against Influenza supported this point of view. The tools of TCM that has been used for thousands of years are introduced as an example for the search of tools for other system of interest. All these tools must be used according to the Golden Rule of Regulations and are composed of either pure Energy or Matter manipulation, or in the form of Information through energy or matter.

Note that good strategies will also account for habitual reaction caused by the internal feedback loop. In Traditional Chinese Medicine we observe that this habitual feedback loop on human system is a major cause of magnification of sickness. With the experience acquired by regulating different systems according to TCM Differential Diagnosis-Cure process, we hope that everyone will realize the importance of this feedback loop and really enhance our life by the elimination of bad habits. It is not as easy task because the feedback loop is what makes a system "alive". Here we try to install a good habit of "bad habit elimination" where both good and bad habits are actually stored at the same place of a system.?Our ability to control all the systems around us may result in the grow of our greed and pride, and hence a point of balance (frame of reference) for how far we should control, is very important in the practice of control theory. As Laozi (Lao Tze) said 3000 years ago: No disaster is worse than being discontented. No catastrophe is worse than having unlimited desires. The contentment from releasing that one should satisfy, will always make one feel contented. [] (Lao Tze 46)

XIII.    Further work:?

The application of the control theory of the Taichi Yin-Yang system has been applied in many areas in the history of Chinese culture. However, the application that has been best preserved nowadays is Traditional Chinese Medicine. The recent remarkable results in the battle against SARS is supported by the guidance of this ancient theory, rather than a particular effective Chinese herb. Lots of works need to be done to apply this ancient theory to other modern physical, social and biological sciences but that will result in remarkable findings and achievements. The theory should be able to once again?Once?again? the?theory?should be able to guide?and? enlight?the?development? of?science,?technologies? and?civilizations,?because? it?is?"The? final?theory"?that? modern?scientist?has? always?been?looking? for, it is Einstein's lifelong dream of a "Theory of Everything".?Or?one ?/span>should? say,?the?theory has? always?been?"The? original?theory".
